Just That Company are Mum and Son team Karen and Alfe individually known professionally as Just Karen and That Twisting Guy.
Alfe began accompanying his Mum to parties and events to earn some pocket money and then found that he had a natural ability to support the children at events who felt shy or needed a little time to find their way to enjoy the experience. This mostly involved Alfe clowning around.
Until Covid Karen was the balloon twister of the family but during that time Alfe honed his skills and has definitely superseded his Mum in balloon art earning the title of That Twisting Guy. When not entertaining Alfe is a teaching assistant at a special needs school.
Karen loves nothing better than clowning around and her weekdays are spent visiting schools and early years settings using play as a medium to build meaningful relationships to support children through traumatic experiences, develop a positive emotional wellbeing and communication. You will find her acting as various characters throughout the year, especially during the Autumn and Winter festivities.
We have decided to merge into a shared company, whilst continuing to provide our individual services under the umbrella of "Just That Company" as we venture into organising events and developing original inclusive theatre productions for families whose children have SEND.
